The Cenobites emerged early 1994 as a trio consisting of Alien- guitar&voice, Horrible Hak-slappin bass and Creepy Kiel on drums. Creepy Kiel is the only one left from this first line up. First the Bassplayer left, and after a whole bunch of people tried but failed, was replaced by P.G. Vogeli, a well known figure in the Rotterdam psycho-billy scene. With him the original CENODEMONICSOUND of the Cenobites was developed, a mixture of psycho, punk and fifties rock'n roll. They are influenced by Demented are Go!, Motorhead and other raw psychobilly, punkrock and rockbands.
From there on the Cenobites hit the road and established a reputation of being a great live act. Some of the highpoints of the touring schedule included: Twice as headliner on the Psycho summer meeting in Spain (1995,1999), psycho festivals in England (big rumble '96 and Bedlam breakout '97), Germany (welcome to your nightmare festival '98), France (demons of the swamp '99). The Cenobites have played extensively in Belgium, Germany, Holland and Brazil. They played with Demented are go!, Batmobile, Klingonz ,Godless Wicked Creeps, Barnyard Ballers, Os Catalepticos, Mad Sin and many more. Some labels noticed the Cenobites, Fury; an English label released two compilations featuring the Cenobites and the German/American Tombstone label released their debut 10' in 1997.After this release the Cenobites again toured around Europe until Alien decided to quit. Dimitri replaced him on vocals and two guitar players were attracted: Jeff and Michel. In this line up the Cenodemonicsound progressed further in an even sleazier harder rockin' formation, the original line up would have ever dreamed of.
