Jekills - Jekills (1989)

The band began its activities in Belgium on 86 as a quartet called Riot Guns, sparking neo-rockabilly. A year later and with the departure of a member the Jekills were born. With Leo on guitar and vocals , Sergio in slapbass and Fofo on drums. The band made tours in Belgium, France and Switzerland supporting bands like the Batmobile, Restless, Meteors and Happy Drivers. The trio was mainly influenced by rock & roll from the 50s and the classic bands like the Meteors, Pharaohs, among other Batmobile. Hated to be called punkabilly (headed at the time by Klingonz), and always preached the fun and beer at their shows .
At the time the music of Jekills was affectionately called Fritobilly and their debut album was released on September 89, was being paid by themselves and on their own label. This album was sold out quickly and is simply sensational.
The Rockhouse wanted them to cast a new album for the label Kix 4 but they preferred to wait until they were more famous in the rest of Europe, which did not happen and eventually leading to the end of the band, prematurely and without due recognition.
